Canada Climate Change Law and Policy Research Center

The Canada Climate Change Law and Policy Research Center is an international research institute dedicated to advancing global climate governance and sustainable transitions. The Center brings together scholars and fellows from world-leading universities, including Harvard, Columbia, and UC Berkeley, and maintains a longstanding working relationship with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where it participates as an observer organization.

Our research and collaboration focus on:

Energy Transition & Power System Governance: advancing clean energy development, grid resilience, and cross-regional power cooperation, providing policy and technical insights for governments and enterprises;

Climate Finance & Carbon Market Mechanisms: fostering green investment, carbon crediting, and blockchain-based innovations to align capital flows with climate goals;

Climate & Public Health: addressing the impacts of climate change on vulnerable groups, such as aging populations and youth, through integrated governance frameworks;

Youth Education & Public Engagement: supporting climate education initiatives for young leaders and enabling the next generation’s active role in global climate action.

Through interdisciplinary research, international dialogue, and policy innovation, CCCLP works with governments, multinational enterprises, and international institutions to support low-carbon transitions and enhance regional cooperation worldwide.
